Stuttgart, 09.04.2025<\/i> – As part of the EU-funded research project FlashPhos<\/b><\/span> the renowned Institute for Sanitary Engineering, Water Quality and Solid Waste Management (ISWA)<\/b><\/span> organized a future-oriented workshop under the title:<\/p>\n

“Sludge Drying for Phosphorus Recycling & Demonstration Event Dryer Grinder”<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The focus was on the <\/span>energy-efficient drying of sewage sludge<\/b> as a key technology for <\/span>phosphorus recovery<\/b> – a central topic for the future of <\/span>circular economy in wastewater treatment<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Live demonstration: Next-generation grinding dryer technology<\/b><\/h3>\n

The highlight of the event was the <\/span>demonstration of an innovative grinding dryer pilot plant<\/b>which showed how <\/span>sewage sludge can be dried in a resource-saving<\/b> and at the same time <\/span>valuable phosphorus can be recovered<\/b> can be recovered.<\/span><\/p>\n

Particular attention was paid to the <\/span>SDS low temperature dryer<\/b>which is characterized by <\/span>minimal energy consumption<\/b>, <\/span>gentle sludge transport<\/b> and <\/span>avoidance of vapor formation<\/b> convinced. The <\/span>Live demonstration<\/b> offered practical insights into the <\/span>future sewage sludge treatment<\/b> under real conditions.<\/span><\/p>\n
